Common goals

Mace agreed a framework contract in December 2005 with the United Kingdom Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) to provide design and construction services on its worldwide programme of embassy projects.

The FCO commission is already in full swing with projects on site including new embassies in Manila, Algiers and Harare. Construction on projects in Warsaw and Mumbai is expected to start in early 2008 and a number of other projects are currently in design.

Sustainable environmental design is a key priority and all the embassies are aiming to achieve an "excellent" BREEAM sustainability rating.

Mace's design teams include some of the UK's best-known consultants who are working to provide buildings which represent the best of UK design for the 21st century whilst remaining appropriate for their particular local requirements.
