Information

Mace has provided strategic business case consultancy services to provide an increased capacity of primary care facilities for clients West Kent, Wandsworth and Buckinghamshire Primary Care Trusts. This has resulted in an increase of services available for local communities.

This procurement indicates a change in the way that some PCTs introduce service developments and the culture of primary care service provision. The primary justifications for this project at national level are to:

  • Enable the most under-served PCTs to attract new providers to extend the range of provision offered to the public;
  • Increase both GP provision and other primary medical care clinical staff;
  • Develop strategies and plans for improving health, particularly for those in greatest need.

Bill Millar of West Kent PCT said "The timetable was extremely tight and required strong project management support. The project has been praised by the board as being 'excellent' and in June we will have a new service available to support some of our most challenging communities."
