Mace wins consultant of the year at West Midlands Property Awards

Mace in the Midlands is delighted to be awarded the title of professional consultancy team of the year at last night’s West Midlands Property Awards 2009, beating off the shortlisted competition from DBK and Rider Levett Bucknall.
Mace received high praise from the judges due to its extensive project portfolio in the Midlands spanning all sectors from arts and commercial to urban regeneration and infrastructure. The award is testament to the strong presence Mace has built in the region with projects to date including The Royal Shakespeare Theatre, Birmingham New Street Gateway, NEC LG Arena, Birmingham City University City Centre Campus and Coventry’s Ansty Park among others. Judges said: "It [Mace] has been involved in actual schemes. If it
hadn't been involved in Ansty Park the scheme wouldn't be where it is.
They approach things in a different way. They are the best consultants
we have worked with. At New Street and the Royal Shakespeare Theatre
they are delivering on complex projects. You can tell the difference.
When Mace is on a project they grab things and take them forward."
The event has become significant in the region’s property calendar with over 500 representatives from the construction and property sector attending at the Hilton Birmingham Metropole Hotel. Winners on the night included, Argent’s Eleven Brindley Place as Construction Project of the Year, Glenn Howells as Architect of the Year, M3 and GBR as top property agents, M3 was awarded the best industrial agent award with the property personality of the year award going to Coventry City Council development boss John McGuigan.
Mace regional director Simon Dale, who was present to accept the award said: “Being recognised as the top professional consultancy team in the region is a fantastic achievement and is testament to the passion and commitment of the entire Midlands team. This award is a celebration of all the hard work, skill and determination that has gone into building our profile and reputation here and the great relationship we have built with our clients who continue to support us.”
