Mace / Skanska JV short listed for Tottenham Court Road revamp

The Mace and Skanska joint venture bid for the £500m refurbishment of Tottenham Court Road Station has successfully reached the shortlist, with five firms now in the running for the job.
The job is the biggest-ever station redevelopment in central London and involves the expansion of the existing ticket hall by six times, doubling the station's capacity. The project also comprises the build of a new escalator shaft known as the Goslett Yard Box, which will connect to the new Crossrail station at Tottenham Court Road. Works are set to begin in early 2010.
