Mace delivers first phase of Fosse Way School

17/04/2009
Mace Group has handed over the £4.2m new build extension to Fosse Way Special School in Radstock, under the Bath and North East Somerset (BaNES) project management framework. The school was handed over on time and within budget and is another demonstration of Mace Group's continued public sector presence in the south-west.
The new building replaces the current temporary classrooms with a new teaching block including eight new classrooms, a science room, library, staff office and resource area providing over 120 pupils with state of the art facilities, helping to enhance the services offered by the school.
Mace received special thanks from the school's head teacher and members of the BaNES education department for ensuring all their needs were implemented and successfully delivered during the project.
Councillor Terry Gazzard, cabinet member for development and major projects said: "This project is more than a building, it provides state of the art learning facilities for some of our most vulnerable children and young people. It gives them an outstanding learning environment to match the outstanding teaching and learning they experience."
The remaining section of the scheme including a new staff car park, access road and link building is scheduled for completion in early May 2009.
