Mace completes its largest store remodel for Asda

An integrated Mace team has completed a remodelling project for Asda at its Basingstoke store. The success of the £2m project has resulted in further commissions to be delivered throughout 2011.
Asda appointed Mace to provide an integrated service of project, equipment and architectural management. The project included the creation of new photography and audio-visual areas, as well as a customer restaurant, relocation and refurbishment of the store's area for Asda's clothing brand George, refurbishment of Asda colleague facilities, and installations of new and refurbished chilled and frozen cabinets throughout the store. A majority of the store's shelving and equipment was also replaced.
The scheme programme and costs were reduced and the store continued trading throughout the work. The Mace project team were awarded an Asda delivery rating of 94%, a gold standard rating.
