Four million hours worked incident free for JW Marriott Resort and Spa

20/05/2009

Abu Dhabi National Hotel's JW Marriott Abu Dhabi Resort and Spa development has achieved four million working hours without a major accident. This has been achieved over a 15-month period, which makes this all the more impressive.

This 450 million AED project sees 18 different nationalities working together, and at its peak will have over 4,000 operatives on site.

The resort and spa is superbly located on the idyllic Maqta Channel, adjacent to the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque. A vast lagoon surrounds the 5 star, 400 key hotel and chalets, which are in Venetian styled architecture. The resort also includes a spa, yacht berthing facilities, a Venetian village and major hard and soft landscaping, which includes significant water features.

Steven Brown, Mace project director at JW Marriot commented: "This landmark is a credit to the team spirit from the client, contractors, consultants and Mace staff and we all look forward to maintaining and even raising these standards."
